Flexcell fluid shear system
The Streamer® is a fluid shear stress device allowing users to regulate fluid shear stress to cells in culture with laminar, pulsatile, or oscillating flow. Flexcell’s® Streamer® System uses a computer-controlled peristaltic pump. Together with the Osci-Flow® Flow Controller, researchers can regulate the frequency of oscillation or pulsatile patterns based on shear stress level applied from 0-35 dynes/cm2. Flexcell's® Fluid Shear System is designed to allow users to observe biochemical changes, cell migration and signaling under fluid shear load in vitro.
Streamer
A system solution that allows users to apply fluid shear stress to cells in culture with laminar, pulsatile or oscillating flow.
- Uses a computer-controlled peristaltic pump to regulate shear stress from 0-35 dynes/cm2
- Works with the Osci-Flow® Flow Controller to regulate oscillating and pulsatile fluid flow
- Culture cells on special matrix-coated Teflon rimmed 25 mm × 75 mm × 1.0 mm Culture Slips®
- Analyze effects of fluid flow on cell alignment, mRNA and protein expression, and signaling pathways
- Remove with quick disconnect fittings for easy cleaning after use
- Streamer device is autoclavable
- Run up to six slides in parallel at one time
Osci-Flow® Flow Controller
A flow control device that gives the user the ability to regulate the frequency of oscillation or pulsatile patterns as well as shear stress levels applied to cells through StreamSoft® and NI-DAQ software.
- Provides software regulated control of oscillatory and pulsatile fluid flow
- Works as a system solution with the Streamer® and FlexFlow® shear stress devices
- Minimizes flow response lag by eliminating inertial effects of decelerating and accelerating pumps and motors
- Instantaneously reverses fluid flow
- Adapts to other perfusion systems
- Accommodates any MasterFlex L/S series, or comparable, tubing
FlexFlow®Shear®Stress Device
A parallel plate laminar shear stress device that allows the user to observe signaling responses to fluid flow and/or apply strain (up to 4%) to cells before, during, or after applying a shear stress.
- Test cell alignment response to fluid flow
- Culture your cells on matrix bonded surfaces using StageFlexer® Membranes or Culture Slips®.
- Regulate shear stress from 0-35 dynes/cm2 using a computer-controlled peristaltic pump
- Use with the Osci-Flow® Flow Controller to regulate the frequency of oscillation or pulsatile flow patterns
Culture Slips® Microscope Slides
Works with the Streamer® and FlexFlow® systems. Each slip is matrix treated to promote cell attachment.
- Culture Slips® are available in two sizes: 75 mm x 25 mm x 1.0 mm (for Streamer® or FlexFlow®), 76 mm x 25 mm x 1 mm (for FlexFlow® only)
- Culture Slips® are rimmed with a 1.0 mm wide Teflon® border to help limit cell culture growth to the portion of the slip exposed to fluid flow
- Covalently bound matrix surfaces: Untreated, Amino, Collagen (Type I or IV), Elastin, Pronectin® (RGD), and Laminin (YIGSR)
- Available in a pack of 6 or case of 36 culture slips
